my kitchen corner


 

I love this little corner of my kitchen. The vintage toaster that toasts everything perfectly. The bowl from my grandma's house that hold a variety of fruits, but right now has lemons. The beautiful flowers that my love gave me after being gone last week. What a beautiful life!!

reasons for everything

I always knew there was a reason that I hadn't dated anyone. I logically knew this, and yet somewhere deep inside there always was this question of why am I different from everyone else? I think on of the puzzel pieces fell into place today when I was in my relationship class. We were talking about traits that have been shown to contribute to a successful marriage. moving

Vulnerable. I both love and loath the word. God keeps asking me to live like this, to live open and soft in a world that isn't always warm and caring. Not just vulnerable with the few people who are close to me, but vulnerable with the people He places in my path. To live life with people, but also to let them live life with me.  This is difficult for me under normal circumstances, but in two and a half weeks I'm moving somewhere new, to begin a new chapter in this story called life. Anyone who I have talked to about this has seen my smile, my excitement for a new adventure, my longing for change. But what no one has seen are the tears that I have cried, the inner anguish I have gone through. No one has seen how this decision has rent my heart in two. learning to savor

I was asked today if money wasn't an object, if I didn't have to work, if I could do anything in the world, live anywhere in the world, what would I do? I wanted to give her a thoughtful answer, a truthful answer, so I thought about it. If I could do anything what would I do? My heart leapt within me at the thought. It's one of those rare opportunities where you just allow yourself to dream for a minute of a perfect world. What would that world look like? I knew within myself what I would do, and I did my best to express it to this lady. I would have a house on the beach. It would be a safe place, a resting place, a refuge. It would be open to anyone who wanted to come. I would have tea every afternoon with my friends. I would cook and bake. I would work in my garden in the backyard.
