Craziness

Whew! What a day! What a week!

I feel like I have been constantly running since 9:30AM on Monday! And strangely I don't really see it slowing down any time soon. At least I only have another week until I have another break.

So this was my day. I woke up at 5:52 this morning, but I was able to go back to sleep until 7 which was a blessing. Then I had a little quiet time and a shower and tried to collect myself to leave for MOPS. I had decided that I was going to get my driver's license switched today, and I needed to get a copy of my housing contract. The office didn't open until 9 which was when I needed to be leaving.

I'm really glad that I got it today, though, because when I went in, the lady reminded me that if we resigned our lease today we would get 300 dollars off of our rent for July. I went to MOPS and got to hold little children for a couple of hours. Then I ate lunch and studied for a test in my labor econ class. Took that test, went and had my writing workshop, then went to get my driver's license, but I couldn't find the office.

I came back and took care of the lease agreement and then went back to the driver's license station. I got that taken care of, so I now have a Missouri driver's license. I went back to PoHo and tried to have some quiet time but fell asleep for 30 minutes. Talked with the boys and H for a while. Had Bible Study, prayed, talked with the boys and K and K and H some more. Now I am home, and I smell like L. Not a bad thing, but just not a scent I expect. I need to get some sleep. I have 8 AM class.

I have been thinking about D a lot lately which is odd because I haven't thought about him much in about 2 years.

I'm not sure what is going on with my heart right now...I'm not quite sure what I feel...sleep will probably help with that.

peace

I've thought a lot about peace this week, and all week I've tried to come up with the words to say what I feel in my soul. I am weary. My heart mourns because there is so much dissension and violence in our world. There is so little peace.  The hosts of heaven announced the arrival of the Messiah with shouts of Glory to God in the Highest and Peace on Earth. I think sometimes we forget that people during this time frame had a very different version of peace than we think of today. The shepherds who heard this announcement would have been well aware of the Pax Romana: the Peace of Rome.  You see, Rome had a great and terrible weapon to enforce their peace. You threaten the peace; you die. And not just any death, but a public, humiliating, and excruciatingly painful death. accomplishment

You know that sense of accomplishment when it really sinks in that you actually just did whatever you did. Like the first time you tie your shoes all by yourself. Or when you ride your bike without training wheels for the first time. Or when you drive you car without your mom or dad in it. Or when you make your first flight by yourself. Or when you move to a city where nothing is familiar and start a life there. Or when you finish your last class of your undergraduate college. Yep...that's what I did about an hour ago. I finished my last college class. I have one paper and 2 finals standing between me and graduation, but I will be graduating (New Zealand here I come!!) in a week and a day. My family will be down here in a week. In a week I will have handed in my paper and finished my last final.
