"sometimes love wakes me up like sunshine"

I just finished possibly the world's strongest cup of coffee...and I'm completely wired. I'm not even kidding you, the last drink...always the best...was full of the fine coffee grounds mud that is characteristic of a french press made cup of coffee. So wonderful!!

I'm listening to Jenny & Tyler right now...surprise, surprise...and yet again the inspiration for the title of this entry is from their song "Muse."

This morning I got to enjoy my Love waking me up with Sunshine. My Beloved is so incredible. I am so incredibly blessed!! I got to cuddle with Jesus for probably 30 minutes this morning, and it was delightful...He is the best cuddle buddy ever!! I just remembered lately how much I love to cuddle. I used to cuddle all the time when I was little, but it has been a while since I really recognized that about myself...it's about time I rediscovered that. :)

Last night I was super mellow...I'm serious...I was actually so mellow that K and L weren't sure I should be driving home. They kept asking if I was sure I was okay to drive. Half of the reason I was so mellow was tiredness and red wine, but the other part was the company. I am so blessed that I have friends around whom my heart is so peaceful and restful. Especially the boys just really allow me to rest in their presence.

I am constantly in awe of my Beloved!! He is so incredible. He is all radiant and ruddy, the fairest among 10,000. He is strong and faithful and gentle and tender. He is always with me, and He always loves me. He is the fulfillment of all my desires. And He wakes me up like sunshine. :)

I'm supposed to be writing a sermon for a baccalaureate service we are having at our church tomorrow night to celebrate our high school graduates. Don't worry. I'll get it finished. peace

I've thought a lot about peace this week, and all week I've tried to come up with the words to say what I feel in my soul. I am weary. My heart mourns because there is so much dissension and violence in our world. There is so little peace.  The hosts of heaven announced the arrival of the Messiah with shouts of Glory to God in the Highest and Peace on Earth. I think sometimes we forget that people during this time frame had a very different version of peace than we think of today. The shepherds who heard this announcement would have been well aware of the Pax Romana: the Peace of Rome.  You see, Rome had a great and terrible weapon to enforce their peace. You threaten the peace; you die. And not just any death, but a public, humiliating, and excruciatingly painful death. accomplishment

You know that sense of accomplishment when it really sinks in that you actually just did whatever you did. Like the first time you tie your shoes all by yourself. Or when you ride your bike without training wheels for the first time. Or when you drive you car without your mom or dad in it. Or when you make your first flight by yourself. Or when you move to a city where nothing is familiar and start a life there. Or when you finish your last class of your undergraduate college. Yep...that's what I did about an hour ago. I finished my last college class. I have one paper and 2 finals standing between me and graduation, but I will be graduating (New Zealand here I come!!) in a week and a day. My family will be down here in a week. In a week I will have handed in my paper and finished my last final.
