Iced Tea

This has been the best morning that I've had in quite a while, but it really didn't start that way. I had a dream last night that I remember very well, and it was really much more of a nightmare than a dream. I woke up with my heart racing (not exactly the way one wants to wake up in the morning), and it was really bothering me a lot. However, I really feel like God was speaking to me through it because it lead me to Psalm 91.

You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,
will say to the Lord, "My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust."
For He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
He will cover you with His pinions,
and under His wings you will find refuge;
His faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
Because you have made the Lord your refuge,
the Most High your dwelling place,
no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.
For He will command His angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.
Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honor them.
With long life I will satisfy them,
and show them my salvation.

That was a huge blessing to me, and I ended up having the most glorious quiet time this morning, just meditating on that Psalm and how great God is and His amazing love and faithfulness towards me. So all morning I just have been sitting on the front porch in the beautiful cool of the morning drinking iced tea and spending time with Jesus.

And K is coming up today!! And tomorrow morning we are leaving for MT for the weekend. It is going to be so much fun!! And there is a pond in my backyard. It is super pretty. My dad has done such an amazing job with this house and the landscaping and everything.

He and I were talking this morning, and we were discussing how there is something powerful in being like our Creator in creating things. There truly is. It brings life and beauty and rest and refreshment and joy and delight into our lives.

I'm done job hunting for now. Today is a day to catch up on other things. I'm going to marinate porkchops for supper, and I need to clean and do laundry and pack for MT. I'm really looking forward to a roadtrip, and this is one I haven't done in a while, so it should be fun.

Until next time...keep cleaning.
