weird dreams

I rarely have dreams that I remember...ususally when I do, they are super weird and make no coherant sense at all. So last night I had a dream that made sense (for the most part) but was still super weird and I remember all of it.

Here's the essential run down of the dream. I had to get married...for some reason I'm not sure what...but it was kind of a life and death situation. Like if I didn't get married something bad was going to happen. (Can you already see the weirdness of this dream?) So I got the only guy friend I had who was available right then (mind you this is someone I would never marry in real life), and after a lot of running around and some serious confusion about the ceremony, we finally got married.

Well it turns out that he was incredibly resentful at being forced into marrying me (even though he agreed to it), and so he decided that he would continue to act as though he were single, even though we were married. I on the other hand, decided that I was going to do everything possible to make him a good wife and try to win his love.

Yeah...pretty jacked up...I would like to blame it on my feverish state, but I think you have to run a higher fever than I am in order to have delusional dreams. So I have no idea where that came from or why I had that dream...weird.

3 days til Christmas!! :)

learning to savor

I was asked today if money wasn't an object, if I didn't have to work, if I could do anything in the world, live anywhere in the world, what would I do? I wanted to give her a thoughtful answer, a truthful answer, so I thought about it. If I could do anything what would I do? My heart leapt within me at the thought. It's one of those rare opportunities where you just allow yourself to dream for a minute of a perfect world. What would that world look like? I say Hi!

I have discovered the secret to avoiding awkward situations... things are only awkward if you make them awkward. Think about it. We take our cues from the people around us. If someone else is trying to make you feel awkward, and you just ignore it and go on with life...then they will stop. I was in a situation tonight that could have been awkward, if I had made it that way, but I choose not to. As a result I ended up having a great conversation and was very encouraged and uplifted from it. Anyway...this is going to be short because it has been a very long day and I have a lot of homework to do tomorrow...so tomorrow is going to be a very long day. We finally covered Philippians 3 in Bible Study tonight...so excited to move on. Also, I am greatly enjoying playing chess with a good friend...we are having about a weekly match up. Good times!!
