news and thoughts

Well, my friends, my computer has died. :( Yes, I am in mourning. With the snow and my car being in a snow drift (until yesterday when I shoveled it out), not having a computer has been a touch difficult. However, I am surviving, and it is good because I am getting other things done that I want to accomplish. Although, my book pile hasn't shrunk yet. hmmm. . .well, my dear roommate and I are having a bit of a Jane Austen day and reading in the living room for the afternoon. Perhaps there will be a turn about the room later.

I am reading Ruth again. It has been about three years since I studied it in depth, so this is good. I am having new thoughts and being reminded of old ones. I'm not quite sure why God is having me read Ruth again, but I know He has purpose in all things. I am probably going to begin reading a favorite book that goes along with Ruth again as well. Lady in Waiting by Jackie Kendall and Debbie Jones. Always incredibly challenging and thought provoking.

My roommate and I started The Truth Project in Sunday school at church today. I am so excited about it, and the first session just really wet my appetite to delve into Truth. At the end of the session he asks a "haunting question" which really causes me to stop and examine what I think and believe. Do you really believe that what you really believe is really real? He goes on to say that if we did we could turn the world upside down and be world changers. I know that isn't the way I live every day. It's the way I want to live every day, but it isn't actually the way I live. How about you?

Well, I am going to go back to reading. There are so many books calling my name on this quiet, wintery Sunday afternoon. If I don't blog as frequently in the next couple of weeks you know why. And if you know of anyone who would like to give me a new computer, send them my way.

Peace out yo!
